Miami Beach's first Sustainable Neighborhood Association in North Beach, founded to address resident concerns, neighborhood issues, to ensure a more sustainable and resilient future for current and future residents of Park View and surroundings areas.

Park View Island is located in the heart of North Beach, just one block away from 72nd St Town Center, we're located on 73rd Street, off Dickens Avenue, across from the North Shore Park and Youth Center.

After moving to North Beach from South Beach in 2016, Omar quickly began to see some serious deficiencies in his neighborhood. The community needed many upgrades, suffered regular sewer overflows among many other issues. By the end of 2019 he had already been attending regular community meetings and had acquainted myself well with North Beach. at the time, Park View had no representation at City Hall and no island HOA. That is when Omar decided to launch the Park View Island Sustainable Association. In 2020, there was a sewer main break on 72nd St. that emptied over 1.6 million gallons of raw sewerage into the Park View Canal.
We immediately jumped into action, holding the first Community Cleanup in March 2020, shortly after the City of Miami Beach enacted a "No Contact with Water Advisory for the Park View Canal", this water surrounds our entire community. This was one of the main reasons why he had bought a waterfront home in North Beach.
Since then, the Association has grown from strength to strength, having brought millions in community benefits directly to Park View Island and the surrounding area.
Omar's movement has touched every corner of our City. He has spoken at many commission meetings, and worked directly with 2 different City Administrations to date to improve quality of life in our community.
In 2024, Omar presented as a speaker at the Biscayne Bay Marine Health Summit - "Grassroots Advocacy How a Neighborhood Association is spearheading a more Sustainable Future in North Beach".
The Park View Island Sustainable Association hosted the North Beach International Coastal Cleanup Day for the 3rd year consecutively in North Beach, receiving the Ocean Conservancy "Award for Engagement" during the 2024 ICC.
Omar was honored to be nominated by the Miami Beach City Commission and appointed to the "North Beach Community Redevelopment Agency Advisory Board", where he sat until filing for elected office in July. He is the only North Beach candidate in this year's race, currently serving the greater North Beach Community as a truly grassroots, resident first candidate.
Omar is the founder of the Park View Island Sustainable Neighborhood Association.
Since its establishment in 2020, he has led the Association as a self-funded, philanthropic labor of love for his community. To date, the Association has received no funding from the City of Miami Beach.
The Association’s mission is simple: to strengthen Park View Island’s relationship with City Hall and work collaboratively with residents and other civic leaders throughout the community, to build a more sustainable and improved quality of life.
Since 2020, Omar has spearheaded numerous initiatives and advocated for long-overdue improvements on the island and throughout the surrounding neighborhood.
